The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the company’s day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, job costing, and financial reporting. This role collaborates closely with internal stakeholders and leadership to deliver strategic financial insights and maintain accurate financial records. The Accounting Manager also leads the accounting team, ensuring operational excellence, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Oversee daily accounting operations: accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, job costing, and financial reporting
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, variance reports, and forecasts for leadership review
- Supervise and mentor accounting team members; provide ongoing training, performance feedback, and development opportunities
- Support external audits, tax filings, and compliance with GAAP and relevant state and federal regulations
- Establish and enforce internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures to protect company assets
- Optimize accounting software and system integrations (e.g., Sage 300, Textura, Procore).
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
- Composed: Maintains focus, clarity, and emotional control under pressure, enabling effective decision-making and steady leadership in high-stress or uncertain situations
- Ensure timely filing of sales/use taxes, business license renewals, and other regulatory compliance requirements
- Monitor project budgets and costs, ensuring alignment with contract terms and accurate expense allocation

- Prior experience in public accounting
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, within the construction industry
- Proficiency with construction accounting software
- Strong leadership, communication, and analytical problem-solving skills.
- AIA billing
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license
- Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Strong understanding of construction-specific accounting concepts, including:

In accordance with the Maryland Wage Transparency Law, the base salary range for this position is: $115,000.00 - $150,000.00.
