Project Safety Manager

Description

• Participate in creating the project safety plan.
• Track and trend safety performance and recommend corrective or preventive measures.
• Verify team adherence to company safety management processes.
• Assist teams with enforcement of safety programs, including drafting letters, issuing violations, and meeting with managers.
• Facilitate project safety committees.
• Participate in preconstruction safety meetings and pre‑task planning.
• Conduct or facilitate project‑wide safety training.
• Support teams with regulatory safety compliance.
• Facilitate safety inspections and verify adequacy of corrective actions.
• Empower any employee to stop unsafe work until the issue is resolved.
• Verify completeness and accuracy of incident investigations and “How It Happened” reports.
• Assemble and maintain site safety documentation such as permits and inspection records.
• Perform industrial hygiene assessments, including noise and air monitoring.
• Coordinate and communicate safety activities with the Project Manager.
• Participate in regulatory compliance audits, such as OSHA inspections.
• Encourage innovative ideas from the project team to increase safety awareness.
• Build positive relationships, provide conflict resolution and coaching.

Requirements

EPI Power is hiring a Project Safety Manager to join our growing team in Cedar Rapids, IA. The Project Safety Manager will provide site safety leadership and oversight for their assigned project and serve as the expert resource for consistent implementation of company safety standards, project-wide training, preconstruction safety planning, jobsite safety auditing, and incident investigation. This is a great opportunity for an experienced construction safety professional who wants to work for a company that prioritizes safety across the organization.

The role requires working six days per week, Monday through Saturday, totaling 58 hours.

• Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience; OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Excellent judgment, problem‑solving ability, and high initiative.
• Strong verbal and written communication; comfortable presenting to varied audiences.
• Detail‑oriented, highly organized, and able to resolve issues efficiently.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and able to learn job‑specific software.
