The apprenticeship is based in Norwich and starts in August 2026 with a starting salary of £18,000, increasing to £23,500 in the second year. Candidates must have the right to work in the UK.
As an Asset Technician Apprentice in Anglian Water's Water Supply teams, you will split your time between college study and practical on‑site training, learning mechanical and electrical engineering skills while helping to keep clean drinking water flowing to homes and businesses.
The role is hands‑on and outdoors, working in varied weather conditions, and after qualification you will join a 24/7 standby rota because the position is vital to service continuity.
If offered a place, you will undergo standard employment checks such as references, a driving licence check, a DBS check, and verification of your right to work in the UK.
- Hold GCSEs (or Level 2 Functional Skills) in English, Maths and Science (grades 9‑4/A*‑C).
- Demonstrate good communication skills and a collaborative team mindset.
- Be willing to work outdoors and learn new technical skills.
- Obtain a full UK driving licence by the end of year two (or within one year of turning 17).
