  • Report on CDM procedure compliance to the Head of HSE & Wellbeing SPA; and ensure the Pre-Construction Information is collected, is sufficient and presented to those who require it.
  • You will be expected to deliver the highest standards of Health and Safety (CDM) advice to all stakeholders/subcontractors within a multi-disciplinary engineering environment.
  • You will ensure full compliance with relevant Health and Safety legislation associated with the delivery of SPA project works, specifically the requirements of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
  • You will monitor the SPA engineering and design teams’ compliance with SPA CDM processes and procedures; periodically reviewing and revising the processes and procedures with subject matter experts and SHEA Systems Manager.
  • Actively promote and achieve SPA H&S CDM objectives; offering alternative solutions where necessary to ensure H&S and to reduce whole life cost.
  • Assist the Principal Designer Assurance Lead to ensure compliance with the duties under the CDM regulations
  • Ensure all appointed SPA duty holders are compliant with CDM regulations.
  • Actively promote ‘Safe by Design’ and ‘Safer Everyday’ culture within SPA design teams

  • Experience of working in multi-disciplinary design teams (ideally within infrastructure or water sectors)
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders
  • A solid understanding of CDM Regulations, construction processes and procedures
  • A qualification in Engineering or Health & Safety
  • An understanding of the operational and maintenance requirements of water industry assets
  • Good IT skills especially in MS Office suite, with a proactive problem-solving mindset
