Under general supervision, assist with performing basic professional inspections of proposed and existing site conditions, equipment, construction, materials, controls, resources, layout, alignment, and elevation to determine conformance with applicable rules, standards, codes, and construction or operating permits.

Provide basic technical assistance that accounts for the proper inspection, construction, and functioning of airfield pavements, highways, roads and infrastructure
Work collaboratively with other professionals, scientists, engineers, inspectors, project control, and technicians on assigned inspection phases, checks, and tasks.
Assist with project change orders, interpretation of contract plans and specifications, and escalating any differences, errors, or technical problems for appropriate resolution.
Comply with client policies and procedures for inspection work under contract.

Minimum of 5 years of relevant post education experience in discipline with prior construction inspection experience.
Valid state driver’s license.
Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
High School Diploma.
Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, follow instruction, and comply with company policies.
Asphalt, CTB, Concrete and Storm Drain Inspection Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in closely related discipline is preferred.
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Ability to direct others in the field such as subcontractors and junior-level staff to consistently complete tasks safely, efficiently, and accurately according to specifications.
American Concrete Institute (ACI) certified
Well-defined knowledge of construction inspection principles, field inspection practices, process, methods and techniques.
Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.
Well-defined knowledge of relevant construction codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
Competent critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to apply technical knowledge to reach conclusions from inspection and testing results, data collation and arriving at the most effective, economical, and logical solution.
Arizona Technical Testing Institute (ATTI) Certification or Equivalant
Proficient with technical writing, office automation, software, technology, math principles, spreadsheets, and tools.
Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail, accuracy, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
Must meet requirements for SIDA Badging at Tucson International Airport
Strong interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to a technical and non-technical audience.
Experience with Aviation or Public Agencies work
