Carrier Commercial Service is hiring a Project Engineer to lead startup, commissioning, and warranty management of air‑ and water‑cooled chillers for new data centers. The position works with cross‑functional teams—including engineering, operations, commissioning authorities, general contractors, and subcontractors—in the Ohio Valley (Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky). Extensive travel is required, with up to 75% time spent on site and several weeks per project.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, plus at least three years of project management experience and three years in mechanical installation, building automation, electrical installation, or construction. Experience with water‑ or air‑cooled chillers and commercial HVAC—including centrifugal chillers, CDU systems, and air‑side equipment—is also required. The ability to read and interpret complex MEP drawings is essential.
A bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering—or a master’s/MBA—is preferred, as are data‑center experience, PMP or LEED certification, and familiarity with BACnet. Applicants should demonstrate strong multitasking, communication, strategic thinking, and problem‑solving abilities, and be able to build rapport with customers.
The role offers a salary range of $96,750–$135,250, incentive eligibility, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, retirement, paid time off, disability, life insurance, and various tax‑advantaged accounts. Additional perks such as tuition assistance, wellness incentives, and short‑term cash incentives may be provided. Carrier is an equal‑opportunity employer and does not offer immigration sponsorship for this position.
