Senior Quantity Surveyor

Description

• Evaluating tenders and producing recommendations for award based on commercial/contractual criteria.
• Provision of advice on cost management and project delivery.
• Monitoring and reporting on subcontractor performance and stages of completion.
• Manage, mentor and develop two direct reports, providing effective leadership to inspire team dynamics and creative thinking.
• Input to feasibility studies and assessment of Project viability.
• Design and implementing Site Query / Instruction process, control and manage change.
• Lead negotiation on Contracts and work schedules.
• Implementing procurement strategies along with SCM team, SOW gap analysis, reduce risk and demonstrate Best Value.
• Effectively prioritise workload to meet multiple, often competing deadlines.
• Pro-actively maintains and shares subject matter knowledge, establishes effective working relationships with external industry and regulatory bodies.
• Provide guidance and direction to less experienced team members.
• Encourage ownership of tasks, setting clear goals and expectations, while providing positive guidance to support ongoing learning and progression.
• Ensures all processes are fully understood and adhered to by participating project members.
• Preparation and overseeing of Invitation to Tender Packages, contracts including Bills of Quantity and schedules of rates as applicable.
• Monitoring project progress, identify potential issues and solutions.
• Ensuring Projects are completed and closed out to the required standards, with lessons learned fully shared, documented and changes implemented.
• Calculating quantities and cost for materials, labour and timeframes.
• Liaise with Team on matters such as risk and disputes.
• Identifying and implementing strategies for the management of risk, value engineering and cost control measures including management of change.
• Diligently promotes adherence to HSEQ, Company and legislative requirements.
• Identifying opportunities to improve project value and reduce cost and schedule.

Requirements

• The ability to engage, influence and negotiate at all levels, demonstrating credibility and professionalism.
• IT Proficient, including Microsoft Office and information management tools.
• Demonstrates initiative and ownership to deliver workload unsupervised while flexible to support wider team activities.
• Ability to undertaken planned travel.
• Ideally degree level qualification in Quantity Surveying, however, relevant experience in high value complex projects will also be considered.
• Flexible and adaptable to meet the evolving needs of a 24/7 global business
• Credible leadership and people management skills to set and manage performance objectives and provide mentorship and development.
• Effective planning and analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail.
• Experience within a marine, construction, subsea or offshore sector is desirable but not essential – support will be provided to transition sectors.
• Pro-active with a solutions-based approach, and the ability to constructively challenge and be challenged.
• Commercial acumen, experienced in contract and project management, can identify and understand the commercial drivers and challenges of the business.
• Highly numeric with experience of budget management, report writing and presenting.
• Collaborative working, the ability to build effective business relationships in-person and remotely across a multi-cultural global workforce.
