As a Transmission Lineworker, you will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, repairing and constructing transmission line assets across the network, providing technical expertise to meet customer expectations and reliability standards. You will respond to emergency incidents, manage scheduled maintenance, and deliver major construction projects while prioritising safety, teamwork and technical excellence.
You will install, maintain and repair transmission line assets, carry out inspections and identify condition concerns. You will prepare safe work methods and safety documentation, mentor apprentices and junior technicians, and step into a crew leader role when needed. You will work closely with Field Coordinators and Site Managers to ensure safe, efficient and well‑coordinated delivery of all work.
Essential requirements include a Certificate III in ESI – Power Systems (Transmission and/or Distribution Overhead), flexibility to support on‑call/after‑hours requests and respond to system incidents, a current Australian driver’s licence, and an understanding of the inspection, maintenance and construction requirements for transmission line infrastructure.
Desirable qualifications include high‑risk work licences such as DG (Dogging), RB/RI/RA (Rigging Basic, Intermediate, Advanced), CV/C2/C6 (Crane‑Vehicle Loading, 20 t, 60 t), WP (Elevated Work Platform) and LF (Forklift); a Heavy Rigid driver’s licence (preferred) and experience in high‑voltage maintenance such as pole replacement, insulator changeouts and hot‑joint repair.
