Reporting to the Survey Department Manager in Fargo, the Survey Crew Chief leads field crews to conduct topographic, boundary, and construction surveys for civil projects such as highways and urban roadways. Duties include writing legal descriptions, certifying right‑of‑way and subdivision plats, and performing title and deed searches to meet professional land‑surveying standards.
Candidates should hold an LSIT or PLS license in ND or MN (or be able to obtain a PLS within 12 months), have at least five years of topographic and highway/roadway construction staking experience, and be proficient with GPS, robotic, and total‑station equipment. Strong communication, detail orientation, and a valid driver’s license are required, as is the ability to work scheduled hours, travel, and handle overtime during construction seasons.
