- Must always maintain working equipment.
- Follow instructions from supervisors.
- Monitor drilling operations to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Perform site clean-up.
- Restores and repairs all disturbed property.
- Inspect drill sites for potential hazards.
- The Operator will be expected to be on time and complete service calls in a timely manner.
- Loads and unloads materials on the truck.
- Performs all phases of general and underground construction including but not limited to loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal, and placement of various types, sizes, and weights of construction materials and equipment.
- Maintain and repair drilling equipment.
- Always maintain safe working habits/conditions.
- Operate Horizontal Directional Drill to bore holes in the earth.

- Must be able to lift and carry materials of all shapes and sizes, weighing 40 to 90 pounds.
- Must be able to maintain visual and audible contact with other crewmen and all moving or stationary persons/vehicles/objects to ensure safe coordination of movement.
- Travels to and from job sites
- Class A CDL (preferred)
- Be able to pass a pre-employment background and drug screen.
- Must be able and willing to conduct strenuous and physically demanding tasks for long hours, work outdoors, and in inclement weather conditions.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to operate or work around heavy equipment and machinery.
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl while performing work.
- Working knowledge of basic hand tools and mechanical equipment
- A positive can-do attitude and openness to trying things in new ways.
- 2 plus years as an experienced Driller working in all types of ground.
- Must be able to work while wearing safety boots, safety glasses, hard hats, and any applicable safety gear.
- Ability to travel wherever the job is needed.
- Experience in the telecommunications or underground utilities industry is required.
- A valid driver’s license and must be insurable.
