Heavy‑civil contractor delivering earthwork, grading, excavation, infrastructure and utility projects.
The Construction Laborer role varies daily on earth‑moving projects, ranging from certified traffic‑control flagger duties to setting rip‑rap rock in flood‑control channels. Labor crews set up massive sprinkler systems, handle hand tools, walk in muddy conditions, and lift and carry materials. The position offers a hands‑on introduction to construction equipment and field labor for those new to the industry.
The job is safety‑sensitive and requires the ability to move and lift 10‑50 lb tools and materials, communicate with co‑workers using hand signals and two‑way radios, and safely navigate 2:1 slopes and rough terrain. Workers must use hand tools and equipment according to company policies and be able to perform in all weather conditions, including hot, cold, wet and humid environments.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old, have reliable transportation, and be willing to travel to project locations throughout the Southwest. Rummel Construction is an equal‑employment opportunity employer and provides accommodations for disabilities upon request.
