Delivery consultants & construction experts transforming visions into built reality.
The successful candidate will champion Mace’s ‘Safety first’ value by leading safety, quality, cost, programme, sustainability and compliance standards, while fostering a diverse and inclusive environment. They will also uphold the ‘Client focus’ principle by designing and implementing PMO and project‑controls frameworks, engaging with industry bodies, and building internal and external networks. Under the ‘Integrity’ value, they will manage project‑control processes, support senior stakeholders in shaping long‑term strategy and hold others accountable to Mace’s standards. Finally, the ‘Create opportunity’ value requires mentoring and developing teams, networking, and supporting resourcing for the assigned commission.
The PMO and controls team will establish governance frameworks in hub locations across EMEA and Asia‑Pacific, roll them out to new hubs, and maintain documentation, training, assurance and reporting rhythms. They will develop a benchmark database covering location, project type, scale, complexity and delivery speed to assure cost estimates and inform capital planning.
Key experience required includes delivering effective PMO and project‑controls on complex construction projects, setting up audit and assurance frameworks, and strong competence with risk tools such as MS Office, Power BI, Aconex, Primavera P6 and RiskHive. Candidates must be able to manage high‑uncertainty activities, possess deep sector knowledge (e.g., rail, highways, nuclear, public sector, hospitals) and demonstrate influence over senior management.
Additional qualifications sought are professional membership (RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE or equivalent), extensive delivery experience in the consult sector, deep property or infrastructure expertise, commercial acumen, leadership of large diverse teams, and an understanding of carbon and sustainability impacts. A degree‑level education, cross‑cultural working ability and strong interpersonal and communication skills are also essential.
Mace is an inclusive employer encouraging candidates from diverse backgrounds to apply, even if they do not meet every criterion. Flexible, part‑time, hybrid and remote working options are available where suitable, and the Employee Referral Scheme is promoted.
