Support continuous improvement of project processes, products, and system design through lessons learned feedback and assist Project Managers in issuing claims (new scope of work, cost impact, time impact, risk quantifications, etc.).
Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Manage implementation of changes in design and commissioning as per change management processes and support the tendering team to estimate efforts required for service engineering activities.
Actively develop and coach colleagues. Cultivate a network of engineering peers within and outside the business unit. Take a lead role in developing the function within the business unit by gathering and sharing best practices.
Manage external organizations providing equipment, systems, or services to the Service Engineering team (e.g., issue permits to work, provide guidance on health and safety requirements and work practices, accept completed work).
Act as the Hitachi Energy lead for service engineering activities on a project and ensure that Hitachi Energy is presented professionally in all customer interactions. Interface with customers and external providers for approval of plant acceptance criteria, closure of open issues, and acceptance tests. Coordinate site activities focused on finalizing customer acceptance certification.
Conduct real-time risk and opportunity assessments during execution of service engineering activities to ensure safe implementation and identify potential variation requests to support contract claims. Report early any contract, quality, program, or cost issues to management with recommendations for resolution.
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance works and obtain approvals from customers for Service Engineering activities on SCMS systems. Apply and implement safety rules on project sites according to regulations and proactively coordinate and report to the Service Engineering Team Leader.
Follow and provide feedback on standard processes and tools. Ensure implementation of agreed procedures so that all site activities comply with safety regulations and contractual requirements.
Prepare project documentation such as Schedule, SAT, MoS, RA, Site Visit Reports, Incident Reports, RCA, etc., in coordination with TL & PM.
Represent the Service Engineering function at project and customer meetings and contribute to creating the project execution philosophy and plan. Manage implementation of the project philosophy and plan.
Collaborate with other teams to solve challenging problems and create work plans for your area of responsibility, proactively managing tasks to deliver on time, on quality, and at targeted cost.
Prepare design documentation, HMI, and database as per project requirements and perform modification, extension, and upgrade works including scheme checks, system power-up, system integration, communication verification, database engineering and modifications, signal tests, implement cybersecurity controls, cybersecurity tests, SAT, energization checks, etc.

Experience in MS Office, Visio, IET, ITT, PCM, Mincom, Digs, etc and knowledge of control and interlocking logic in substations.
Proficiency in both spoken and written English is required.
Intermediate knowledge of OT cybersecurity requirements.
A bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
6 to 10 years of experience as an SCMS engineer with design and commissioning experience of related systems and products.
Knowledge of Substation Automation Systems and different communication protocols (IEC101, IEC104, IEC61850, LON, SPA, Modbus, etc.).
In-depth product knowledge of both Hitachi Energy Micro SCADA and RTU systems and IEDs of various makes.
