WS Development is seeking a Market Director who will play a pivotal role in shaping and managing two of Seaport by WS's signature experiences: the Seaport Summer Market and the Snowport Holiday Market. This position will be based in the company's Boston Seaport office. This individual will be responsible for the leasing, curation, vendor management, and financial oversight of both markets, ensuring they are vibrant, diverse, and engaging for the community.

  • Work cross-functionally and collaboratively with the Seaport Field Marketing, Brand Partnerships, and Creative teams to produce all market marketing, leasing, and vendor materials.
  • Lead all aspects of market leasing, curation, and vendor management (typically 130+ vendors).
  • Monitor market performance and provide strategic recommendations and event recap materials for improvements year-over-year.
  • Support the Director, Community & Partnerships in broader community engagement initiatives, as needed.
  • Curate a balanced and appealing mix of vendors to enhance guest experience.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, balancing financial goals with community impact.
  • Establish strong working relationships with vendors, fostering a culture of partnership and professionalism.
  • Collaborate with the Administrative Coordinator and Accounting Coordinator to ensure smooth and professional processes for vendor selection and management.
  • Oversee vendor relations and application processes from start to finish.
  • Lead all aspects of market leasing, curation, and vendor management (typically a 40+ vendor market per date).
  • Ensure seamless execution of all vendor-related processes, including onboarding, payments, and compliance.
  • Oversee the vendor application process, ensuring a fair, transparent, and efficient experience.

The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, organizational excellence, and a passion for building dynamic market experiences that highlight small businesses, local artisans, and unique retail opportunities. This is a highly collaborative role in a fast-paced environment and the ideal candidate will be a self-starter with an ability to work well with others.

  • 5+ years of experience in market management, retail leasing, event curation, or vendor relations.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Familiarity with Boston's permitting processes a plus.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong data analytics skills for tracking vendor performance, market metrics, and end of season recap materials.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with Boston's retail, artisan, and small business community a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Event Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and off-hours during market seasons, including event setup, management, and breakdown.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and an adaptability to change.
  • Strong financial and budgeting skills, with demonstrated ability to manage projects within budget.
