Field Buyer

Overview

Oversee project purchasing, create contract terms, negotiate and manage purchase orders and supplier compliance.

Tasks

-Participates in the negotiations in the commitment of purchases, following review and approval of the proposed negotiating plan by the designated supervisor -Forms, issues, and administers purchase orders -By reviewing the prime contract requirements, develops and prepares project master purchases pro-forma forms, including legal and commercial terms and conditions to be included in purchase documents for project commitments -Prepares, maintains, and monitors project bidder’s lists, ensuring input is received from all procurement functions and other operational groups

What You Bring

-Has worked on projects in a Buyer or Field Buyer role. -Knowledge of procurement of bare rental construction equipment is an asset. -Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience -Previous experience in Field Purchasing is preferred, experience in procurement of major equipment and/or bulk materials is an asset. -Knowledge of local business capability in the Cloncurry / Mt Isa region is an asset. -Knowledge of the legal and commercial aspects of procurement of equipment and materials.
