Database Analyst

Description

• Collaborates with the PMO, SMEs, and stakeholders to perform assessments in establishing resource, commitments, and efforts to establish priorities and workload management.
• Engages and works effectively with 3rd party vendors.
• Creation of technical documentation and data lineage designs
• Supports and contributes to evolving the Enterprise Data Strategy and Architecture
• Act as the subject matter expert around complex data structures and the ability to enhance the data to be integrated across the enterprise.
• Code review to ensure the database developments follow corporate coding standards and industry best practice.
• Participation in each phase of development including requirements gathering, planning-analysis-design, architect-build-deploy and support.
• Support team to investigate issues with the existing ETL process.

Requirements

• Fluent in understanding of concepts surrounding data mapping, data quality, and data architecture.
• Ability to apply data mining, modelling and extractions techniques in order to translate operational and applicational based system data into the desired enterprise data solution.
• Knowledgably with data visualization, BI and reporting tools (Power BI)
• Ability to communicate end to end data outcomes to all levels of the team hierarchy.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Experience in creating and enhancing data models and metadata management.
• Exposure and working knowledge of ETL and migrating large data sets from varying sources.
• Ability to develop and implement end-to-end data solutions (storage, integration, processing, visualization)
• Proficient in Azure Analysis Services and Power BI
• Experience in Agile (Scrum) project methodology and practices
• Excellent interpersonal and team leadership skills
• Proficient in with SQL, DAX and/or Python
• Strong communication skills
• 5+ years of Data Architecture and BI enablement experience
• Understand Data Models, datasets and business/technical requirements to work as a lead both independently and / or as a team member to solution design, including work by Vendors & Internal Partners.
• Working knowledge of traditional database systems applying ETL and data movement solutions to support target data models.
• 2 + years of experience Architecting and delivering solutions using the Azure Data platforms.
