- Frequently works with energized high voltage systems requiring skill and care to protect the lives of themselves and others.
- Grade and finish concrete slabs and foundations.
- Responsible for maintaining Company vehicles, test equipment and tools in good working conditions.
- Work safely while performing new construction, maintenance or repair, testing, adjusting and troubleshooting work of substation equipment/systems which includes, but is not limited to, work involving the following:

- Must be capable of lifting in excess of 50 lbs.
- Capable of following Company safety rules and policies.
- Must be able to coach subordinates on the crew.

- Must possess a valid Commercial Drivers’ License. No restrictions preferred.
- Well developed interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to establish grade, elevations, and layout of foundations and cable trough in new and existing stations.
- Circuit Switchers, motor-operated and manual switches
- Must supply own safety toed work boots.
- Professionalism demonstrated through unwavering reliability and punctuality
- Must be able to trace out phasing in a substation and verify to the three line diagrams.
- Must be capable of climbing and working at heights up to 125 feet above ground.
- Backhoes, excavators and skid steer loaders
- Must be capable of working in confined spaces/areas.
- Track Crawler Loader/Backhoe
- Buswork (High and Low Voltage)
- Operational experience of various types of heavy equipment:
- Must have knowledge of construction standard practices, techniques, quality requirements, applicable codes and standards.
- 90% Travel Required
- Willing to work over-time or long hours during emergency conditions and/or when requested. Schedules can change frequently and with short notice.
- Must be capable of working in close proximity of energized substation equipment.
- Must be capable of interpreting substation structural drawings (i.e. elevations, plan views, section views, grounding details, and foundation plans) and communicate with customers and subordinates.
- Willing to work outside of the normal work schedule including weekends, holidays, and overtime as required for the position.
- Capable of accurately appraising technical situations.
- Capable of performing routine carpentry work on building wood concrete forms to meet size and shape of concrete to be placed.
- Must be able to work independently or with others.
- Able to perform rigorous physical labor.
- Must supply own personal hand tools required by the company for this work.
- Retained knowledge in all aspects of substation systems.
