The Central Office Planner (Network & Fiber Access) designs, deploys, operates, and optimizes network equipment and fiber-access infrastructure within central office facilities, supporting IP, transport, and fiber access networks, including OLT-based architectures, while ensuring IOF diversity, efficient space utilization, and high availability across CO-to-CO environments.
- Design, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot central office routers, switches, OLTs, aggregation platforms, and transport systems.
- Support fiber-access and IP technologies such as GPON, XGS-PON, IP/MPLS, carrier Ethernet, VoIP, and distributive split.
- Deploy and manage CO-to-CO OLT architectures, interconnections, and IOF diversity for redundancy.
- Coordinate builds, augments, and migrations with engineers, vendors, and IOF teams.
- Plan relay rack layouts, floor space, power distribution, and equipment placement for scalable growth.
- Lead augment projects to expand network capacity and fiber-access coverage.
- Perform turn-up, testing, validation, and acceptance of new services; monitor performance, alarms, and capacity.
- Oversee DC power systems, including power plants, rectifiers, batteries, and generator interfaces.
- Execute maintenance, upgrades, and migrations with minimal customer impact.
- Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, rack elevations, fiber assignments, and inventory records.
