Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field (ABET-accredited). A Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
Technical Skills: Direct expertise with HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS (1D/2D) modeling software is required. Familiarity with related tools (e.g., GIS, StormCAD, SWMM, or other hydrologic/hydraulic models) and engineering design software are a plus.
Availability: Willingness to occasionally travel to project sites or client meetings as needed. Ability to start promptly (position is open for immediate hire) and meet project deadlines.
Client Focus: Strong people skills with the ability to maintain and grow client relationships. Experience supporting business development or having an existing network of client contacts is highly desirable.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience preparing reports and delivering presentations to clients or public stakeholders.
Leadership & Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to lead project teams, mentor junior staff, and manage multiple priorities. A collaborative approach to problem-solving and excellent organizational skills.
Project Domain Knowledge: Experience in civil/horizontal infrastructure projects (e.g., stormwater drainage, flood control, watershed management) within the environmental consulting domain. Understanding of applicable regulations and permitting (such as FEMA floodplain considerations) is beneficial.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in hydrology, hydraulics, or water resources engineering (consulting experience preferred), including a history of project management and team leadership.
