Senior Civil Highway Engineer - Project Manager

Description

• Overseeing construction support services (review of submittals and RFIs)
• Supporting the production of design plans, calculations, specifications, and permitting documents (including but not limited to highway/roadway design, complete street design, safety improvements, grading and drainage design, and utility coordination and relocations)
• Leading a team of engineers to deliver multi-disciplinary transportation engineering projects
• Providing technical QA/QC
• Assisting with scheduling and management of project financials
• Being a trusted advisor to the client, acting as the main point of contact for the client, design team, contractor, subconsultants, and stakeholders.
• Assisting with business development activities and proposal writing

Requirements

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Knowledge of the policies, procedures and design standards of state and local transportation agencies (CTDOT)
• Master’s degree a plus (may substitute for 1 year of experience)
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• 11-15 years of civil transportation design engineering experience required
• PE license required
• Team oriented and motivated to lead/mentor junior staff
• Self-motivated, highly organized, and detail oriented
• Ability to lead and coordinate public outreach tasks
• Ability to manage a multidisciplinary team and multiple deadlines
• Knowledge of industry-standard engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil3D, Bentley CONNECT Suite , etc)
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field required
