  • Conduct tests on aircraft fuel pump subassemblies to determine percentages, degrees, and angles of imbalance to blueprint requirements.
  • Prepare and attach parts using a variety of hand tools including wire cutters, screwdrivers, strippers, wrenches, and soldering equipment.
  • Become a Certified Operator within 40 days of becoming active on the code.
  • Solder wires to switches, motors, stators, and other connections for aircraft fuel pump components.
  • Constantly visual all assembled units to detect any irregularities.
  • Complete an Eaton approved training program within 30 days.
  • Visually inspect all connections for defects. Repair defective solder joints following specified instructions
  • Chart and plot data per SPC requirement.
  • Perform Test operations as needed.
  • Build subassemblies for a variety of aircraft engine booster, transfer, and gear fuel pumps.
  • Perform a variety of safety cabling and/or lock-wiring operations.
  • Perform part/pump marking and nameplate generation.
  • Assemble fuel pumps using components such as bearings, connectors, covers, housing, impellers, rotors, screens, shafts, stators, valves, etc.
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections and maintain accurate documentation on a variety of parts in accordance with ANSI Y14-5 and the certified operator program.
  • Perform assembly soldering to SOP 52-08-0000-00-003 and associated specified requirements.
  • Disassemble fuel pumps and component parts to rebuild to customer specifications and/or to identify and repair malfunctions. May require finished product to be completed, disassembled and rebuild.
  • Move material within the cell.
  • Perform such activities as checking incoming parts against bills of material; stripping wires, measuring and numbering wires and placing them in staging containers; degreasing parts; attaching wires in proper sequence.
  • Follow print specifications and build sheets to perform a variety of assembly, subassembly, and disassembly operations to build aircraft engine booster, transfer and gear fuel pumps.
  • Perform a variety of operations on pump components, subassemblies and support equipment.
  • Maintain all required logs, documents, and records as required by the certified operator
  • Prepare and attach parts using a variety of hand tools including wire cutters, screwdrivers, and wrenches.
  • Perform more than one operation at a time as directed by the supervisor.
  • Perform minor equipment maintenance.

  • Obtain Soldering certification prior to performing soldering operations.
  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Size bearings to close tolerances in assembly of gear pumps.
  • Pass an Eaton vision test.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • Shim fuel pump covers, impellers, etc. using special gauges and micrometers.
  • Ball burnish and lap face of bearings when necessary as a secondary duty to maintain parts flow.
  • Must reside within a 50 mile radius of work location; no relocation benefit is provided.
  • Minimum six (6) months experience in comprehensive, customized mechanical or electrical assemblies, or electromechanical soldering.
