The Planner will act as the key link between residents, operatives and colleagues, ensuring repairs are scheduled efficiently, resources are allocated effectively and jobs are completed to a high standard. The role involves close collaboration with administrators, supervisors and contractors to provide a seamless, customer‑focused repairs service.
- Schedule operatives and subcontractors to optimise resource use and meet repair deadlines.
- Monitor and update repair jobs daily, covering appointments, follow‑on works and overdue tasks.
- Ensure operatives correctly update PDAs and schedule of rates within IT systems.
- Communicate professionally with residents, operatives and stakeholders to keep them informed.
- Collaborate with administrators, supervisors and contractors for seamless service delivery.
- Provide coverage for other planners and attend required meetings or training sessions.
- Adhere to company policies and Health & Safety requirements at all times.
- Assist with reporting and performance monitoring to achieve KPIs and targets.
- Prioritise emergency and urgent jobs to minimise disruption for residents.
- Maintain accurate records, data and documentation for audits and compliance.
- Suggest and support continuous improvements to planning and scheduling processes.
- Offer general administrative support to the repairs team when needed.

Candidates should have experience in a similar planning role, a GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths, and be comfortable working in a fast‑paced, pressurised environment. Strong IT skills, excellent time‑management and communication abilities, a customer‑first mindset, and knowledge of repairs and maintenance processes are essential, as is experience using an ICT appointing tool for multi‑trade scheduling.
