The Regional Director will be accountable for the performance of contracts with Rhondda Cynon Taf, Merthyr Tydfil and Bridgend Councils, acting as a trusted partner and Key Client Lead or Sponsor. Success will require a strong client‑focused culture, technical excellence, commercial discipline and collaborative relationships across the wider WSP network, with a visible local presence of about three days per week in offices or client sites.
Candidates must demonstrate broad project experience in the Local Government sector, a deep understanding of Welsh local authority challenges, strong commercial insight within matrix‑managed organisations, and excellent stakeholder management skills. The role also demands the ability to lead change, inspire innovation, think long‑term, and apply sound problem‑solving and logical reasoning.

Benefits at WSP include a hybrid working model, flexible "WSP My Hour" for personal activities, inclusive culture with employee resource groups, comprehensive health and wellbeing programmes, flexible working arrangements, and strong development support through training, mentoring and chartership opportunities.
