- Follow NELSON standards and guidelines in the preparation of deliverables
- Prepare Addenda and Bulletin documentation
- Log Shop Drawings and assist in Shop Drawing comment translation
- Maintain and archive electronic project files
- Culture of Transformation: Act as a community to accelerate firm impact
- Assist in the preparation of construction documents and specifications
- Complete small construction document sets using predetermined client standards and templates
- Assist in the mapping out construction document requirements
- Provide project administrative back-up (make copies, scanning documents, prepare packages for shipping, etc.) as required
- Order samples and create material boards
- Update design documents and incorporate “red lines” as needed
- Identify code requirements for common architectural systems, life safety, and ADA
- Assist with the schematic phases as directed (sketching, input of sketches, modification of schematic test fit plans, etc.)
- Plot/Prepare drawings for digital transmittance to consultants, clients and/or contractor
- Review your own work and make corrections prior completing an assignment
- Assist in the programming phases as directed
- Provide material, product, and system research and compile project data
- Maintain and update rack sets and projects records
- Assist team members while conducting field surveys as required

- Ability to hand draw and sketch
- Basic knowledge of project budget and schedules and responsibility to adhere to set parameters
- Basic understanding of building regulations, life safety codes and ADA requirements
- Basic understanding of project budgets and schedules
- Ability to work more independently on smaller projects and with supervision on larger more complex projects
- Basic knowledge of design, trends, construction methodology, materials application and manufacturer-supplier appropriateness
- Proficiency in AutoCAD/Architectural Desktop and Revit are required
- 5+ years' experience working in the field of Architecture
- Familiarity with Photoshop and/or InDesign preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Architectural Drafting, or related field
- Experience in Justice and Civic building typologies is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate has experience working on projects such as: Correction facilities, Jails, Prisons, Detention Centers, Courthouses, etc. Other preferred experience includes: municipalities, police and fire stations, city and county buildings, and other public works/public safety buildings.
- Strong attention to detail
- Basic knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchup, and InDesign graphic software preferred
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks as needed to complete within the identified time frame.
- Ability to prioritize and effectively meet deadlines and provide high quality service to clients
- Basic proficiency in Deltek Vision VantagePoint
- Highly proficient in both Revit and AutoCAD
- Create basic details ability to document common architectural systems
- Basic knowledge of design techniques, tools, and processes involved in production of Construction Documents
- Basic knowledge of the construction process as it relates to the drawings being produced
- Architectural experience in: Community, Civic, Justice, and Education is strongly preferred, with experience in the production of challenging technical drawings.
- Basic knowledge of design techniques, tools, and processes involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
- Ability to communicate effectively. both verbally and in writing
