Maintenance Engineer

Description

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Maintenance Engineer to support utility‑scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) within our Solar Storage Systems (SSS) department. The role combines hands‑on work with electrical systems, energy‑storage technologies, and maintenance protocols to ensure system performance and safety.

• Execute maintenance procedures for utility‑scale BESS, including BMS, inverters, switchgear, and SCADA interfaces.
• Perform OEM‑specified maintenance and point‑to‑point insulation resistance tests.
• Identify and troubleshoot electrical, control, and communication issues.
• Document maintenance results, prepare reports, and maintain issue logs.
• Coordinate with commissioning engineers, project managers, and subcontractors.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and EHS policies.
• Complete administrative tasks such as material orders, quotations, job status reports, timesheets, and expense sheets.
• Control costs and protect company capital and intellectual property.
• Contribute to development and refinement of SSS engineering standards, method statements, and risk assessments.

Requirements

• HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
• Field service experience in utility‑scale renewable energy or electrical installations.
• Knowledge of BESS technologies, PCS, and SCADA/PLC systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, self‑motivation, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to travel frequently to remote project sites.
• Proficiency with Outlook, Excel, Word and “Simplicity” software.
• Experience with Lean principles and customer‑service orientation.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities across organizations and countries.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid passport and driver’s license.
