Water Technician

Description

The Water Technician role focuses on helping homeowners recover after fire or flood incidents, with each day bringing work at a different site. The position offers significant overtime opportunities and is ideal for individuals eager to develop or apply skills in demolition, fire restoration, and flood drying. Both experienced technicians and motivated newcomers will find training and career growth available.

• Complete required paperwork (site safety assessments, work authorizations, demo orders, psychrometry).
• Interpret HMI reports and monitor job site drying.
• Use moisture meters to locate wet areas.
• Perform water extraction and set up drying/dehumidifying equipment per IICRC guidelines.
• Support 3‑step bio‑wash procedures.
• Mark and remove non‑restorable materials.
• Conduct controlled demolition of damaged drywall, flooring, and finishes.
• Operate and maintain truck‑mount equipment.
• Utilize Injectidry and specialty drying tools.
• Cut and disengage seams in affected carpet; perform emergency carpet cleaning.
• Assist with removal of door hardware and fixtures.
• Set up and dismantle scaffolding.
• Provide board‑up assistance.
• Ensure adherence to Lydale health and safety policies.
• Maintain good housekeeping for safe, efficient work.
• Verify use of required personal protective equipment on site.
• Follow safety protocols and procedures.
• Wear required PPE, including respirator; maintain appropriate facial hair.
• Participate in on‑call shifts as needed.

Requirements

• Possess fire/flood restoration or demolition experience (preferred).
• Junior technicians welcomed; training provided for demolition and restoration.
• Ability to safely lift 50 lb, bend, reach, and stand for extended periods.
• Willingness to work overtime and on‑call rotations to increase earnings.
• Hold a valid driver’s license and personal vehicle (mileage reimbursed).
• Maintain a clean criminal record and an acceptable driver’s abstract.
