The role focuses on building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, executives, partners, vendors, and internal teams, while serving as a strategic liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders throughout project lifecycles. It supports utility clients in planning and executing AMI or other utility technology implementations across water, gas, electric, or multi‑utility operations, and manages project scope, schedule, budget, financial performance, and stakeholder expectations.
The position leads user training and system testing activities, coaches project personnel, and promotes best practices to improve tools, processes, and overall performance. It also provides annual thought leadership at key industry events and forums, with travel required up to 30% of the month as needed.
Success requires effective communication with stakeholders at all levels of a utility organization and strong management of client expectations to ensure high customer satisfaction. Candidates must have a solid understanding of AMI, meter‑to‑cash processes, and utility business practices, preferably with experience in large water utilities and electric or gas utilities. A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience) and 10+ years of progressive utility industry experience are required, with a Master’s degree preferred.
