The FAB Expert – Space Management will lead planning, allocation, and optimization of space within semiconductor fabrication facilities, ensuring efficient cleanroom utilization, equipment layouts, material flow, and compliance with industry standards. The role works closely with process engineers, architects, and facility planners to develop layouts that enhance operational efficiency, safety, and sustainability.
- Develop overall plant layout for semiconductor projects, ensuring statutory compliance.
- Optimize cleanroom, sub‑fab, utility, and support space layouts while meeting O&M and EHS requirements.
- Allocate equipment, process tools, and material flow pathways to maximize utilization and flexibility.
- Coordinate space requirements with process engineers to align with production needs.
- Ensure proper separation of process zones, hazardous areas, and clean storage spaces.
- Collaborate with civil, architectural, structural, and MEP teams to integrate space planning with facility design.
- Work with MEPF teams to meet cleanroom classification (ISO 14644) and contamination control standards.
- Plan utilities, access corridors, and logistics flow to minimize production disruptions.
- Incorporate ergonomic and accessibility considerations for operators and maintenance personnel.
- Manage clash coordination to achieve interference‑free designs.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, fire codes, and industry safety standards.
- Address environmental sustainability, including energy efficiency and waste management.
- Partner with permitting agencies to secure approvals for space modifications.
- Produce plant layout reports, GA drawings, and 3D models to communicate designs.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost‑benefit analyses for space utilization strategies.
- Prepare and update plant/system layouts for authority approvals.
- Support commissioning and validation of space layouts before facility operation.
- Apply Lean manufacturing and process optimization techniques.
- Communicate effectively and coordinate across cross‑functional teams.
- Manage multiple projects in fast‑paced environments.

Successful candidates will hold a bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant engineering or architecture field and possess more than 15 years of experience in FAB facility planning or semiconductor manufacturing. Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, and a solid understanding of cleanroom classifications, HVAC, and MEP requirements are essential, along with strong analytical, communication, and project‑management skills.
- Hold a bachelor's or master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Architecture, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Facility Planning, or related field.
- Possess 15+ years of experience in FAB facility planning, space management, or semiconductor manufacturing.
- Demonstrate proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, and related facility planning tools.
- Understand cleanroom classifications, HVAC requirements, contamination control, and MEP systems.
- Exhibit strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Experience with greenfield and brownfield FAB projects.
- Knowledge of sustainability best practices in semiconductor manufacturing.
