Description

• Participate in the evaluation, development and documentation of accounting procedures, policies and controls.
• Review agreements and contracts to ensure compliance in reporting and payment obligations.
• Investigate and resolve outstanding items within the C&D portfolio.
• Assist in the training of staff accountants and develop strength as a coach/mentor.
• Review staff accountants’ work and comment on completeness and accuracy.
• Act as a liaison to Internal and External Audit in relation to C&D matters.
• Analyze monthly portfolio detail and research significant accounting matters.
• Prepare and review wires and ACH payments.
• Effectively use Unifier and Workday to prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, transactions, and account activity.

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
• Strong sense of teamwork and work ethic demonstrated.
• Willing to work on a flexible schedule (some overtime required).
• 3 years accounting experience in monthly financial statement preparation and review is desired.
• Superior time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to effectively train staff accountants.
• CPA designation is desired.
• Possess strong analytical skills.
• Undergraduate Degree in Accounting from an accredited business school.
• Real Estate background desired.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Possess a strong customer service focus.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word.
• Ability to work well with accounting team, construction and development management team, and other departments, including upper management.
• Possess detailed understanding of most C&D transactions, systems and related industry terms.
