Comprehensive knowledge and experience with recent versions of AutoCAD.
Practical experience with Building Information Modeling (i.e. REVIT) and 3D modelling experience is an asset and will be given preference.
Working knowledge of Ontario Electrical Safety Code and electrical design principles.
Experience using Building Codes in Canada, as well as specialty regulations would be an asset.
Effective communication skills are essential, including interpersonal and verbal abilities within the team environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
Must be well organized to be able to prioritize multiple tasks and demonstrate a flexible approach to work assignments
Experience in the design, drafting and construction administration for electrical systems will be an asset.
Experience as a technologist in an architectural firm with a focus on Industrial, Commercial and Institutional projects.
Experience in design and drafting of single line diagrams, power distribution systems, UPS, cable trays, lighting, grounding, equipment layouts, Fire Alarm, motor schematics, wiring diagrams, control panels and control wiring, low voltage switchgear, MCCs and area classification .
Access to a personal vehicle to visit sites may be required.
2 years of experience preferred (we may consider candidates with less experience as this is an entry level position).
Successfully carrying out assignments on project design teams;
Graduate of an Architectural Technology diploma program from a recognized postsecondary institution.
Certificate or diploma in an engineering technician or technology program (two or three year).
