Senior / Principal Hydrologist or Drainage (Civil) Engineer

Description

• Hydrological modelling using FEH, ReFH2, WINFAP and other industry-standard tools
• Preparing flood risk assessments, environmental statement chapters and technical hydrology reports
• Working with statutory authorities and water regulators
• Supporting fee proposals and client engagement
• Conducting site walkovers, surveys and risk assessments
• Mentoring junior staff and contributing to team development
• Preparing technical reports and supporting fee proposals
• Managing budgets and timeframes under senior guidance
• Consulting with water regulators, statutory bodies and stakeholders
• Delivering drainage strategies (surface water, foul water, SuDS, highway drainage)
• Carrying out site walkovers, CCTV investigations and survey oversight

Requirements

• Familiar with UK policy & guidance: National flood policy, drainage standards, DCG, Building Regs etc.
• Chartered or working towards chartership (C.WEM, CEnv, CEng etc.)
• 5–7+ years in consultancy (hydrology, flood risk, hydraulic modelling or drainage design)
• Strong stakeholder/client communication and commercial awareness
• Degree in Geography, Environmental/Earth Sciences or Civil/Environmental Engineering
• Software experience relevant to your discipline (HECRAS, TUFLOW, Flood Modeller, Causeway Flow, PDS, CAD etc.)
• Full UK driving licence + ability to undertake site visits
• Strong training and CPD support (internal & external)
• Leadership experience: mentoring, technical review, project management
