The Electric Engineering department ensures all aspects of electric engineering—including standards and process safety, design engineering, instrumentation testing and controls, undergrounding, regulatory compliance, and investment planning—are in place to safely enable a strategic and stable workplan for our Electric Operations partners. The organization is accountable for program planning, financial budgeting, and project execution and delivery of all electric engineering projects, and comprises approximately 2,000 coworkers.
The role oversees all aspects of connecting renewable power generation sources into PG&E's transmission and distribution systems, developing and managing operations processes and strategies to ensure compliance with related regulations and tariffs. This hybrid position works from a remote office and an assigned work location within the PG&E Service Territory as business needs dictate.
PG&E provides a salary range based on locality and individual factors such as skills, education, experience, and internal equity. For the Bay Area, the range is $126,000 to $200,000; for California, $120,000 to $190,000.
