The role reports to the Production Supervisor and is responsible for ensuring that the quantity of materials and components needed for the paint cell are available or in process, monitoring inventory levels on the production floor, and maintaining machine set‑up and schedules to keep production flowing.
Safety is a primary accountability: you must understand and follow plant safety policies, prevent hazardous conditions, wear required protective equipment, keep the work area clean and orderly using Lean 5S principles, and actively participate in plant safety objectives.
Key job functions include assisting with the daily production schedule, performing basic machine set‑ups and changeovers, reviewing shop orders for component availability, communicating material issues promptly, generating pick lists for the Paint Department, and organizing on‑floor inventory to maintain accurate work‑in‑process records.
Required education is a High School Diploma or GED, with six months of related experience preferred, and the ability to handle physically demanding factory work. Overtime and weekend work may be required to meet business objectives.
Essential skills include reading, writing, and understanding English instructions, the ability to bend, twist, turn safely, lift up to 40 pounds, stand for long periods, good hand dexterity, and strong math capabilities.
