Description

The role reports to the Production Supervisor and is responsible for ensuring that the quantity of materials and components needed for the paint cell are available or in process, monitoring inventory levels on the production floor, and maintaining machine set‑up and schedules to keep production flowing.

Safety is a primary accountability: you must understand and follow plant safety policies, prevent hazardous conditions, wear required protective equipment, keep the work area clean and orderly using Lean 5S principles, and actively participate in plant safety objectives.

Key job functions include assisting with the daily production schedule, performing basic machine set‑ups and changeovers, reviewing shop orders for component availability, communicating material issues promptly, generating pick lists for the Paint Department, and organizing on‑floor inventory to maintain accurate work‑in‑process records.

• Follow plant safety policies and wear required protective equipment.
• Prevent hazardous conditions and maintain a clean, orderly work area (Lean 5S).
• Participate in plant safety objectives.
• Assist in developing and coordinating the daily production schedule.
• Perform basic machine set‑up and changeovers.
• Verify component quantities and availability for shop orders, including scrap allowances.
• Communicate material or component issues to the Supervisor promptly.
• Generate pick lists to support the Paint Department.
• Organize and control on‑floor inventory, ensuring WIP accuracy.
• Work overtime and weekends as needed to meet business objectives.
• Safely bend, twist, turn, lift up to 40 lb, and stand for long periods.

Requirements

Required education is a High School Diploma or GED, with six months of related experience preferred, and the ability to handle physically demanding factory work. Overtime and weekend work may be required to meet business objectives.

Essential skills include reading, writing, and understanding English instructions, the ability to bend, twist, turn safely, lift up to 40 pounds, stand for long periods, good hand dexterity, and strong math capabilities.
