  • Produce an insightful monthly organic report, ensuring our successes and learnings are shared with internal stakeholders.
  • Schedule content to post across all of our social media platforms, ensuring it’s relevant, engaging and 100% accurate.
  • Support the social media team with our paid and organic marketing campaigns.
  • Ideate and then create a compelling content plan that aligns with our business objectives and engages customers across all of our social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, Pinterest and more.
  • Assist in responding to requests from influencers and content creators.
  • Be the first line of response for our 8 community management colleagues who respond to all of our comments and queries across all social media and review platforms.
  • Encourage our customers to share their DIY and Kitchen & Bathroom projects with us on social media, so that we can champion their images and videos across our marketing channels. You will be responsible for curating the UGC content that we use across our channels.
  • Responsible for organic content creation (including copywriting and editing images/videos/reels/stories) with a focus on the DIY and trade side of the business. As well as hands-on content creation, you’ll also work with our in-house studio team to create content from brief to delivery.

The chosen candidate will gain experience in planning, content creation and analysis across the Wickes social media channels, with direct access and exposure to key partners such as Meta, Pinterest and Reddit, and support from our agencies.

We’re excited to bring a new view, lots of creativity, a can-do attitude and a social-first mind to our team for a six-month fixed-term contract. This role would be ideal for a graduate or someone early in their career in social media or marketing. We’re looking for someone immersed in social media who is ready to put this knowledge into practice and generate sales, enquiries and engagement for Wickes.

  • A natural networker - outgoing, confident and great at building relationships
  • Good analytical skills with the ability to draw insight from data
  • There will be some travel to different sites, a full drivers licence and own transport is required
  • Ideally, graduate with a business or marketing degree (or similar)
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Proficient in content creation platforms such as Canva or Adobe Express
  • Proactive and able to juggle multiple projects
  • Incredibly organised, reliable and responsive
  • Great at writing copy tailored to each platform
  • Comfortable creating and featuring in video content - from TikToks to Reels
  • Comfortable using social media content and planning tools such as Sprinklr, Hootsuite or Sprout Social (beneficial)
  • At least 1 year+ of social media experience (in a professional/work context)
  • Quick to pick things up and enjoys the dynamic pace that retail offers
