The Wash Plant Operator is responsible for operating the wash plant to achieve aggregate production goals while performing necessary repairs and maintenance. This role supports the company’s commitment to delivering high‑quality materials for highway construction and development projects.
Key duties include operating the wash plant efficiently, conducting general maintenance and repairs, and ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations. The operator may also use equipment such as a front‑end loader, skip loader, and skid steer, communicate job details with contractors and drivers, and keep accurate plant files and records.
Candidates must hold a high school diploma or GED and have at least five years of experience operating a wash plant, which is preferred. A valid MSHA Part 46 (5000‑23) certificate is required for the position.
The successful applicant will be able to troubleshoot plant issues, communicate clearly, and practice good safety habits in dusty or dirty environments. Physical abilities include stooping, bending, crouching, lifting up to 80 pounds, and good visual acuity.
Additional expectations include supporting corporate safety initiatives, learning the company’s time‑keeping and reporting systems, adhering to the Code of Conduct, and complying with MSHA regulations. Flexibility to adapt quickly in a fast‑paced plant environment is essential, and bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.
