The Role

Overview

Electrical technologist supporting plants with design, PLC programming, and project management.

Tasks

-Project designing, testing, and commissioning work with both current equipment configuration modifications and new systems. -Work with different plants to overcome production problems and improve safety systems. -Programming automation and control systems and improving existing PLC programs including servo drives and A/C drives to help manufacturing efficiency. -Keep current with the latest technologies to provide relevant electrical design consolation. -Works as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team to help develop and own the electrical equipment design that provides the functionality required based on internal standards and user requirement specifications. -Act as corporate resource for automation system developments and implementations. -Provide complete electrical assistance including troubleshooting, project engineering and project management to Plants. -Update existing legacy technologies to current standards when required.

What You Bring

-Knowledge of industrial ethernet networks and network communication standards. -5+ years' related work experience -RRSP Match -Electrical project management including scheduling, financial, and contractor management. -Siemens programming experience would be an asset. -Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering/Electrical Engineering Technology diploma. -Labor-hour estimation, work planning, scheduling, coordination, and reporting. -Organizational skills - managing projects. -Experienced in PLC and HMI systems design, programming, commissioning and start up including system hardware selection, I/O panels and subsystems layout and wiring. -Excellent analytical, technical, problem-solving, research and teamwork skills. -Proficient in Allen Bradley PLC and HMI programming, preferred. -Knowledge of control and distribution panels, switchgear, and MCCs. -Some travel to various sites in North America will be required -Computer skills – AutoCAD, MS Project, Excel, Word, etc.
