Tasks
Working within the Commercial team, the role ensures that proposed contract terms, tenders, and commercial submissions align with Agilitus’ governance standards, insurance requirements, and Delegation of Authority framework, while supporting the achievement of successful outcomes for our clients. The Contracts Specialist (Legal/Procurement) provides proactive commercial support across Agilitus’ tendering, pre-contract, and procurement activities. -Collaborate with bid leads, procurement, and commercial leadership on tender clarifications and commercial submissions. -Ensure all tenders and agreements comply with Delegation of Authority (DOA), insurance, and governance frameworks. -Monitor legislative, insurance, and industry practice changes to recommend procedural updates. -Enable informed decision-making across the business by delivering clear, actionable advice and supporting successful outcomes for clients and internal stakeholders. -Protect Agilitus’ commercial interests by applying legal discipline and commercial pragmatism to contract reviews, negotiations, and risk assessments. -Provide post-award support including evaluating payment claims, overseeing procurement deliverables, and attending project meetings. -Draft and negotiate contract terms aligned with internal risk appetite, market standards, and governance frameworks. -Act as a strategic bridge between legal counsel and operational teams, combining analytical precision with practical contract management expertise. -Provide proactive commercial and legal support across tendering, pre-contract, and procurement activities to ensure contractual integrity and alignment with company standards.

The position bridges commercial pragmatism and legal discipline, combining the analytical precision of a legal counsel with the operational insight of a Contracts Specialist to protect Agilitus’ commercial position, contribute to client success, and enable informed decision-making across the business. We will only be accepting applicants with current Australian working rights, at this time. -High standard of written and verbal communication with strong attention to detail. -Strong understanding of contract law, risk allocation, and pre-contract processes. -Demonstrated ability to analyse complex terms and communicate clear, pragmatic advice. -Demonstrated knowledge and experience of strategic procurement and contract management frameworks. -Tertiary qualification in Law, Business, Commerce, or related discipline, or significant equivalent industry experience. -Proven experience in the mining and engineering sectors, with a strong background in contract review, negotiation, and administration within Australian engineering or construction environments.
