The position requires delivering consulting‑level services for nuclear power uprates, collaborating with clients and project teams, and preparing technical proposals and cost estimates. Responsibilities include managing resource loading, budgeting, reviewing engineering calculations, equipment sizing, vendor bids, and producing clear technical reports.
You will also guide junior engineers, perform independent reviews of calculations and drawings, and represent the firm at client meetings and site walkdowns to confirm scope and ensure satisfaction.
Joining the Nuclear Power Group means contributing to clean, carbon‑free energy projects, including small modular reactors, advanced reactor technologies, plant life extensions, and international new‑build initiatives, building on a legacy dating back to 1954.
Candidates must hold a BSME from an ABET‑accredited program and possess at least 15 years of experience in the nuclear power industry, especially with power uprate or turbine retrofit projects. Required expertise includes thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, mechanical engineering applications, and familiarity with relevant codes and standards. Strong technical writing, MS Office proficiency, and excellent communication skills are essential.
Preferred qualifications include an MSME degree and a Professional Engineer license.
The role follows a hybrid schedule, with three days in the office and two days remote each week.
Sargent & Lundy offers award‑winning benefits such as comprehensive health plans, life and disability insurance, retirement options, paid time off, tuition assistance, and flexible work arrangements, reflecting a commitment to employee well‑being.
The total compensation ranges from $142,710 to $215,440, with additional discretionary bonuses and a transparent compensation statement.
