At FSB, fire protection engineers work shoulder to shoulder with architects, mechanical and electrical engineers, and technical specialists to create solutions that are innovative, coordinated, and buildable.
- Guide project team members through feasibility studies, egress analyses, and fire flow evaluations.
- Coordinate multi-discipline designs and resolve conflicts collaboratively with internal teams and project stakeholders.
- Take ownership of fire protection system designs including fire sprinkler, standpipe, fire alarm, and mass notification systems with minimal supervision.
- Lead code research, prepare code summaries, and apply both prescriptive and performance-based strategies.
- Prepare complete documentation packages including technical specifications, design narratives, and construction drawings using Revit and AutoCAD.
- Identify opportunities to enhance internal standards, templates, and technical resources.
- Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and informal training to junior staff.
- Interpret and implement complex code scenarios, such as mixed-use occupancies, hazardous materials, and special hazard systems.
- Support construction-phase services including RFIs, submittal reviews, site observations, and issue resolution.
- Perform and review detailed hydraulic and voltage drop calculations to ensure performance and code compliance.

- Highly organized and dependable with an ability to manage multiple deliverables.

- Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other closely related field.

- Clear communicator with the ability to convey technical decisions to project managers, architects, contractors, and clients.
- Collaborative and team-oriented with strong leadership potential.
- 4–6 years of experience in fire protection engineering with strong technical and coordination skills.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex system design and code compliance.
- Experience developing construction documents, narratives, and specifications using Revit and AutoCAD.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license highly preferred.
