The role involves collaborating with the Supply Chain and Production teams to ensure on-time delivery, supporting cost‑saving projects, planning, purchasing, and expediting components and raw materials, procuring operational supplies, approving new suppliers, investigating supply and pricing discrepancies, leading supplier qualifications and onsite meetings, maintaining optimal inventory levels, managing slow‑moving or obsolete stock, conducting inventory and cycle counts, supporting quality actions, attending planning meetings, learning and maintaining MRP systems (Titan/SAP), preparing vendor forecasts, monitoring plant capacity, analyzing business risk, working with centralized purchasing, coordinating freight, updating systems, cross‑training in other functions, and occasional travel.
Candidates must have 3‑5 years of procurement experience in a production environment with progressive responsibility, knowledge of MRP systems (Titan/SAP) considered an asset, strong analytical skills and intermediate Excel (vlookup, pivot tables), excellent verbal and written communication, a positive attitude and strong customer service focus, flexibility to manage multiple priorities, the ability to motivate and resolve conflict, and a basic understanding of manufacturing process improvement techniques such as continuous improvement (JEM), SQDCI, and TPM.
