Description

The role involves collaborating with the Supply Chain and Production teams to ensure on-time delivery, supporting cost‑saving projects, planning, purchasing, and expediting components and raw materials, procuring operational supplies, approving new suppliers, investigating supply and pricing discrepancies, leading supplier qualifications and onsite meetings, maintaining optimal inventory levels, managing slow‑moving or obsolete stock, conducting inventory and cycle counts, supporting quality actions, attending planning meetings, learning and maintaining MRP systems (Titan/SAP), preparing vendor forecasts, monitoring plant capacity, analyzing business risk, working with centralized purchasing, coordinating freight, updating systems, cross‑training in other functions, and occasional travel.

• Ensure on‑time delivery of materials to meet customer lead times and production schedules.
• Support cost‑saving initiatives through efficiency and reduction projects.
• Plan, purchase, and expedite components and raw materials for manufacturing.
• Procure operational supplies and, when needed, contractual services.
• Approve new suppliers in partnership with Sourcing per established policies.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in supply and pricing agreements.
• Lead supplier qualification activities and conduct onsite meetings with presentations.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels and manage slow‑moving or obsolete stock.
• Conduct inventory and cycle counts; update system records accordingly.
• Support quality actions related to supplier corrective measures.
• Learn and maintain MRP systems (Titan/SAP) with accurate, timely data.
• Prepare and maintain vendor forecasts; monitor plant capacity constraints.
• Analyze business risk related to product changes, supply disruptions, and vendor performance.
• Coordinate freight and tracking for incoming materials.
• Cross‑train in other office functions and travel for training as required.

Requirements

Candidates must have 3‑5 years of procurement experience in a production environment with progressive responsibility, knowledge of MRP systems (Titan/SAP) considered an asset, strong analytical skills and intermediate Excel (vlookup, pivot tables), excellent verbal and written communication, a positive attitude and strong customer service focus, flexibility to manage multiple priorities, the ability to motivate and resolve conflict, and a basic understanding of manufacturing process improvement techniques such as continuous improvement (JEM), SQDCI, and TPM.

• 3‑5 years of procurement experience in a production environment with progressive responsibility.
• Knowledge of MRP systems (Titan/SAP) is an asset.
• Strong analytical skills; intermediate Excel proficiency (vlookup, pivot tables).
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to work on cross‑functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
• Positive attitude, customer service focus, and conflict‑resolution skills.
• Understanding of continuous improvement methodologies (JEM, SQDCI, TPM).
