Working within the Engineering Solutions Unit, the consultant will assess data maturity, define governance models, build AI readiness plans, and lead initiatives supporting responsible AI adoption. This role will directly impact operational efficiency, technology modernization, and long-term digital innovation within the organization.
- Set up clear processes to review, select, and implement new AI tools and solutions.
- Oversee Data Governance projects from the initial research stage all the way to delivery and training.
- Lead working sessions such as interviews, workshops, and process reviews to gather information and understand business needs.
- Create a framework to assess AI risks and ensure it follows the agency’s standards and policies.
- Develop a full Data Governance Strategy that supports the organization's digital transformation goals.
- Work closely with technical teams to make sure all efforts are aligned with the agency’s AI Strategy.
- Review the organization’s current data practices and build practical plans to help them improve.
- Lead projects that promote innovation, testing new ideas, and using AI responsibly across the organization.
- Identify the people, workflows, and technologies needed to support AI solutions that can grow at scale.
- Study complex issues involving technology and information, and recommend effective, high-impact solutions.
- Plan and assign project tasks to ensure work is completed on time and meets quality expectations.
- Create an AI Strategy that focuses on adopting AI, setting clear rules, managing risks, training staff, and ensuring AI is used responsibly.
- Build strong relationships with internal teams to improve collaboration, productivity, and overall value.

The Strategy Data & AI Consultant will play a key role in advancing the Engineering Department’s digital transformation by developing enterprise-wide data governance strategies, AI adoption frameworks, and innovation roadmaps. This position requires a highly analytical and strategic professional capable of driving complex organizational change, aligning technology strategy with operational needs, and collaborating with stakeholders across engineering, technical, and business units.

- Advanced certifications related to AI, Data Governance, or Cloud technologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Data/Computer Science, or a related field; Master’s degree strongly preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience leading AI strategy and executing AI initiatives in large organizations.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities, with the capacity to engage diverse technical and non-technical groups.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities in dynamic environments.
- At least 5 years of experience in engineering, design, or construction environments, with strong understanding of industry tools and workflows.
- Excellent analytical, conceptual thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure AI or Azure storage platforms and tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
- Experience with additional AI platforms or cloud environments.
