Kimley‑Horn’s Bryan/College Station, Texas office is hiring a Civil Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) with at least two years of experience to join its Land Development team. This is an on‑site role; remote work is not offered.
The engineer will perform site development engineering and project management tasks, completing civil design, permitting, and hydrology or storm‑drainage modeling using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and related software. Projects will span various land‑development site designs and will involve research, coordination, staff oversight, cost estimating, bid package preparation, and drafting technical specifications. The position includes formal training, mentorship, and exposure to plan production, project financials, and client interactions.
Candidates must have two or more years of experience at a civil engineering design firm and hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree from an ABET‑accredited program. An Engineer‑In‑Training or Engineering Intern certification is required, or the ability to obtain it within twelve months, along with working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D. Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills, urgency, self‑initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively are essential.
