  • Monitor results and ensure that communications programs are informed by data and audience insight.
  • Coach and guide Growth senior leaders on engagement and thought leadership to ensure they are well equipped for internal/external speaking opportunities and conference speeches.
  • Deliver external communications activities, including press releases, news and announcements, Growth content on Arcadis’ news section of the website, and content for social media as part of a corporate communications campaign, news, and announcements.
  • Participate in crisis response communication in the event of a global or Growth issue that threatens reputational damage.
  • Provide strategic communications advice and consulting to leadership teams to ensure messages are connected to their audiences (internal/external).
  • Create and deliver strategic Growth communications plans and content for earned PR/business communication (e.g., prioritized and strategic press releases, blogs, speeches for external speaking opportunities, corporate thought leadership) and internal channels (e.g., EDMs, bulletins, intranet, webinars).
  • Contribute to the global corporate communications and cross-GBA communications strategies and the overall Corporate Communications program.
  • Coaching and consulting with senior leaders
  • Create and deliver strategic communications plans and content for earned PR/business communication and internal channels as above.
  • Agree on SLAs specific to communications for Growth with Ops Leader to ensure deliverables are clear and ROI maximized.
  • Drive communications topics from the Change/Transformation team and take them forward into Growth.
  • Represent Growth communications priorities on Governance Boards, including Editorial Boards and the Corporate Communications Community of Practice.
  • Work collaboratively with the other GBA Comms Directors and Cross-GBA Comms Director on cross-GBA communication activity, embedding the Growth story, priorities and initiatives, and promoting a One Arcadis approach and culture.
  • Work closely with country Corporate Communications leaders to ensure messages are localized, delivered through country teams, and amplified through relevant channels.
  • Work with the Brand team, driving strategic storytelling with leaders through the Brand Ambassador program.
  • Partners with the Marketing team on external amplification of the Growth story and relevant thought leadership.
  • Lead best practice internal communications within Growth to support Your Voice scores, focusing on strategic storytelling, leadership engagement, and strategy communication.
  • Provide strategic advice and counsel to the Growth Officer and Management Team regarding content, messages, and appropriate spokespeople to enable relevant presence and amplification.
  • Lead, develop, and deliver a corporate communications and engagement strategy for Growth to drive employee engagement and brand advocacy and promote and protect company reputation.
  • Establish strong connections across GBAs, Corporate Communications, and Enablers (Operations and GSSC) to deliver best practice communications.
  • People management: Creating high-performing teams, communicating vision and purpose, engaging others and ensuring aligned objectives. Caring for employee wellbeing and recognizing and celebrating success.
  • Brings best practice approaches to the function.
  • Collaborate with the Cross-GBA Communications Director to align on cross-GBA Growth-related communications activities and priorities.
  • Work with the Global Communications Director – Strategic Programs to support communication for strategic programs.
  • Influencing leaders on approach to messaging
  • Lead the development of the core Growth narrative and key messages for corporate communication audiences and provide advice and oversight for campaign/marketing content.

  • Breadth of experience: Working internationally, across different industries, business lines, and/or functions; managing projects impacting people/issues/solutions across organizational boundaries.
  • Experience navigating matrixed organizations, such as a professional services organization or consultancy.
  • Appreciation, support, and drive approach to diversity and inclusion across the function.
  • Degree qualified in areas such as Business, Journalism, Communications, or Organisational Development. Continued professional or personal development (e.g., Change Management) preferred. Growth Mindset with a desire to continue learning.
  • Keen eye/ear for tone of voice and leadership presence; a strong and versatile writer. A strategist able to juggle competing demands.

  • Experience and knowledge of data-driven approaches to reporting on success.
  • Experience managing a global team across geographies.
  • Internal Communications experience is essential; some exposure to external communications is valuable.
  • At least 8-10 years’ experience working with the C-Suite and senior stakeholders in applicable industries.
  • Leading transformation: Ability to bring people on a journey to the unknown, creating a sense of stability and security in uncertain times, avoiding change fatigue.
  • Understands and can apply principles for systemic behaviour shifts.
  • Experience developing and successfully rolling out complex change, cultural and organizational programs that influence a step change.
