  • Supervise instrument and rod personnel, ensuring accurate and efficient work.
  • Perform and oversee all technical components of survey work, including computations, layout, finish grading, as-builts, and utilities.
  • Minimize crew downtime by planning alternate work activities in advance.
  • Develop and maintain accurate short-term schedules — always stay at least one week ahead.
  • Coordinate with foremen and superintendents to support field operations and project schedules.
  • Maintain cost awareness and manage assigned project resources effectively.
  • Interpret construction plans, drawings, and elevations accurately.
  • Lead daily operations of the survey crew, reporting directly to the Survey Manager.
  • Manage survey equipment, materials, and resource allocation.

  • Comfortable working in and out of trenches and in all weather conditions.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Competent Person and Confined Space training preferred.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from jobsites.
  • Communicate frequently and clearly with the Survey Manager and field leadership.
  • Advanced understanding of construction principles and procedures.
  • Proficiency with basic math and survey-related calculations.
  • Strong communicator who works well with diverse teams.
