Serve in a technical role under the direction of a Project Manager on the engineering development of urban and rural highway/roadway projects
Complete field reviews and convey and discrepancies between in-the-field research and the plans
Evaluate right-of-way acquisition and relocation impacts resulting from plans
Oversee the work of CAD Designers, and possibly other EITs
Prepare detailed engineering designs for roadway and highway projects
Assume some project management duties and interact with clients as needed
Participate in activities ranging from site feasibility analysis to final design and through the construction phase
Reading and interpreting roadway and ROW plans

A minimum of 3 years experience in all aspects of roadway engineering design and right of way
Ability to review and explain plans with co-workers, landowners, displacees, the general public, and during condemnation activities
MS Office knowledge
Understanding of TDOT's Plan Development
Experience producing ROW plans
Ability to review legal descriptions and prepare row exhibits
Experience with QA/QC of roadway and ROW plans
Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
Experience coordinating with drainage, ROW, Utilities, and environmental
The ability to complete right-of-way field reviews and meetings to provide comments on plans
Hands-on experience with Highways and Roads CAD engineering software such as Bentley ConceptStation and Open Roads Designer and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil3d
Ability to review title reports and compare to plans
Experience should include urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, preparation of concept alignments, geometrical layout and CAD base alignment plans
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Previous experience in all aspects of roadway engineering design
