The Transit Planner will lead planning efforts for multiple transit modes, including commuter rail, bus rapid transit, light rail, and on‑demand services. Responsibilities include collaborating with municipalities, regional entities, transit agencies, and the public, as well as supporting the marketing, management, and production of active transportation, corridor, safety, and circulation plans. The position also involves short‑ and long‑range planning, stakeholder outreach, technical analysis, and multidisciplinary coordination, requiring strong communication and organizational skills.
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering, city or urban planning, or a related field, and have at least four years of transportation‑focused planning experience. Preferred qualifications include AICP certification, proficiency in transportation data analysis, proven client communication, project management, and public outreach experience, as well as excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational abilities, detail orientation, the capacity to balance multiple projects, and a self‑motivated team‑player attitude are essential.
