Senior Transportation Engineer

Description

• Design roadways in accordance with AASHTO and MaineDOT specifications and CADD Standards using Microstation/InRoads and OpenRoads.
• Perform field investigations and construction phase services support.
• Develop and oversee design plans and calculations, technical specifications, and construction cost estimates.
• Interact with and present project designs to clients, agencies, and the public.
• Provide guidance to mentor team members with a positive growthoriented perspective.
• Prepare engineering reports and technical studies such as design memos, feasibility studies, and concept design reports.
• Collaborate with team members, other disciplines and offices, and subconsultants.

Requirements

• Excellent timemanagement skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in inoffice and virtual environments.
• Ability to join Stantec committees, employee resource groups, participate in community volunteering, and join various company or local groups/initiatives.
• Thorough understanding of project tasks within the overall project schedule, budgeting and available resources.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Working knowledge of AASHTO and MaineDOT design standards.
• Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in design with project management experience a plus. More experienced individuals are encouraged to apply as the responsibilities of the position are flexible based on experience level.
• Proactive attitude, attention to detail, punctual, and organized.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microstation and InRoads. OpenRoads experience is a plus.
• Comprehensive approach to challenges and problemsolving.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with team members.
• Maine PE or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
• Ability to work alongside others who share your passion to support communities through exciting and unique projects.
• Ability to lead or assist leading a team through all phases of project design.
