Maintain and repair elevators, ensuring safety and compliance.
Interact with client and client guest and customer in a professional manner.
Performs elevator maintenance and repair work. Tests and adjusts general operating and safety features of elevators such as speed, acceleration, leveling, braking, emergency stop, and alarm bell.
Repair and/or replace faulty components in order to return elevator to fully operational status.
Test newly installed equipment to ensure it meets required specifications per elevator code.
Connect electrical wiring to control panels and electric motors.
Keep detailed and accurate service records of all maintenance and repair task.
Assemble elevator cars, installing each car’s platform, walls, and doors.
Dismantle elevator components in order to gain access to remove and replace defective parts, using hoists, ladders, and hand/power tools.
Maintains and repairs electronic control panels, switches, relays, signal devices, electric motors, generators and related equipment.
Troubleshoot malfunctions in brakes, motors, switches, and control systems.
Drive to each client building to perform routine maintenance route and call back service work as needed.
Inspects, adjusts, maintains, and repairs hoist motors and machinery, governors, door mechanisms, cables, hydraulic buffers, pumps, brakes, rails, guides and related equipment.
Perform rotating on-call shifts that include evenings and weekend coverages.
Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections of elevators on a scheduled basis to ensure compliance with safety regulations and applicable current codes.
Maintains tools and equipment in safe operable condition.
Read and interpret blueprints to determine the layout of system components and to select the equipment needed for installation or repair.
