Accounts Payable Specialist

Description

• Review, verify, and enter invoices using HH2 automated billing system.
• Ensure accurate vendor information, invoice details, coding, and payment dates.
• Assist with weekly AP runs in Sage 300.
• Perform monthly vendor reconciliations and verify statements and invoices.
• Match invoices with waivers and lien releases during payment processing.
• Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain positive relationships.
• Scan and file weekly payment remittances.
• Review and code AMEX and Comdata credit card transactions.
• Reconcile credit cards monthly, ensuring correct import and export between HH2 and the accounting system.
• Provide additional accounts payable and accounting support as needed.

Requirements

The Accounts Payable Specialist reports to the Accounts Payable Supervisor and works on‑site five days a week in Fort Lauderdale. This detail‑oriented role is a key part of the AP department, handling invoice processing, vendor relationships, and supporting various accounting functions. The ideal candidate has construction accounting experience and thrives in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.

• Minimum three years of construction accounting experience, including at least two years in accounts payable.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and construction accounting software; experience with Sage 300, HH2, AMEX/Comdata is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and excellent verbal and written communication.
• Knowledge of specialty contractor business practices.
