Perform component design related work as governed by ASME Section III codes and standards.
Work closely with sourcing and manufacturing to support cost reduction activities.
Develop procedures and identify opportunities to improve engineering productivity.
Work with technical leader to establish an effective work plan, including time estimates, schedule estimates, requirements, and work processes.
Perform independent verification of design work ensuring strict procedure adherence.
Prepare drawings, specifications, and detailed design basis documentation for Nuclear component designs.
Interface and collaborate effectively with internal engineering teams and external suppliers.
Interface with project managers, project engineers, procurement, and other business functions and partners as needed.

Demonstrated problem solving ability and ability to perform complex engineering analyses resulting in thorough and complete documentation.
This role requires working onsite at the GVH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC
Mechanical Design 3 month internship or Co-op experience.
Understand component material selection & fabrication processes to address supplier non-conformances & emergent issues as needed.
This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
Nuclear Industry knowledge/experience.
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or other related engineering field from an accredited college or university.
Experience performing component design work to ASME Section III standards.
Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, vibration analysis, heat transfer, Finite Element Analysis, statistics and drafting practices (including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and CAD).
Ability to work effectively within a highly collaborative environment.
Strong communication skills and capable of clearly articulating specific technical topics or assignments.
BWR/PWR reactor/equipment design experience.
